Hello dear blog readers,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday was the state election in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. I have been following the developments over the past few weeks and cast my vote by postal ballot. I'm a little proud that I managed to keep the secrecy of the ballot: I made the crosses on my own and also sealed the envelope myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many people, I was surprised by the close election result - even though the change in mood from black to green had been apparent in the polls over the past few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five members of parliament from Mannheim have made it into the state parliament. In my constituency of Mannheim II, Green Party MP Elke Zimmer defended her direct mandate. The constituency of Mannheim I went to the AfD by a margin of 322 votes, making it the only direct mandate in the entire \u201eL\u00e4ndle\u201c in the north of Mannheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two SPD candidates will also enter the state parliament via the state list. The north of Mannheim - once a classic red working-class stronghold - is now staunchly blue. The second AfD candidate also made it through the state list. The CDU was once again left empty-handed in the city - the party will therefore have no representative in the state parliament in the coming years. These are still eventful and turbulent times<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday's dialog between my five-year-old daughter and my parents fits in with this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proven caregiver on board<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, things have calmed down a bit on my nursing front. My \u201eregular nurse\u201c from Latvia has been back since mid-January and will stay until the beginning of July. She radiates calm, is very reliable and her manner gives me a regulated, calm everyday life. Unfortunately, my state of health remains poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always a super-GAU: carnival noise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the reasons: the annual \u201eShrove Tuesday event\u201c in Mannheim city center. From 12.00 to 22.00 (as it was a DJ stage) we were blasted non-stop with techno music at a volume that was unbearable even for healthy people ...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, resistance has formed from some citizens in the city center, who have written to the city - with little hope of really making a difference. I \u201emoved\u201c to the quieter back part of my apartment that day, but it was still really hard for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit from France<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there are also nice things: my cousin Kim and my cousin Wesley, who were born in France and currently live in Paris, spent a few days in Mannheim and visited me. The last time we saw each other was ten years ago. They are just starting out in their careers - as stewardesses with Air France and as IT security experts and event managers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One last request for today: My parents check my cell phone every day for new e-mails or WhatsApp messages. I would be very happy if you could continue to send me photos or brief information from time to time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
